Understand the risks associated with connecting offsite, and how to report suspicious profiles

Updated over 8 months ago

Proceed with caution if a Member wants to take your connection elsewhere. We can’t moderate our Members when they go offsite, which is why we encourage our community to remain on the Ashley Madison platform until they have established a level of trust with another Member.

Remember: after sending a Member an initial message and they reply, all future messages to that same Member are free (with the exception of Priority Messages), so consider why someone would redirect you to third-party messaging apps like Google Chat, WhatsApp, SnapChat, Facebook Messenger, Skype, etc. Ask yourself: what’s the benefit?

If you decide to accept their offer, be thoughtful and do your due diligence to understand who the person on the other side of the screen is – should they be trusted? It’s important to always exercise caution when meeting someone for the first time, so don’t let your guard down. Be vigilant about what personal information you share.

Ashley Madison constantly monitors for fraudulent activity, and any Member who repeatedly attempts to redirect other Members from the Ashley Madison website or mobile app will have their account suspended.

If you believe a Member is in violation of our Code of Conduct in any way, please report them. Once reported, we will investigate and take the appropriate action.
