How do I clear my cookies and/or cache?
How do I clear my cookies and/or cache?

Understand how to clear your cache on Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Samsung browser, and Internet Explorer.

Updated over a week ago

Every time you access a webpage through your web browser, your browser caches (stores) it so files (including any images on the page) don’t need to be retrieved each time you click the Back or Forward buttons.

Tip: You should periodically clear your cache for optimal browser performance.

Apple Safari

  1. Go to Settings on your home screen;

  2. Tap on Safari; and

  3. Then Clear History and Website Data.

Visit Apple's official website for more information about clearing history/cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome;

  2. Click the three-dot icon in the top-right corner;

  3. Then on History;

  4. Then Clear Browsing Data;

  5. At the top, choose a time range;

    • Typically, it’s best to delete everything by selecting All time;

  6. Check the boxes for Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files; and

  7. Select Clear data.

  1. Click the menu button (three horizontal lines) to open the menu panel;

  3. Select the history you want to clear; and

    • Click the drop-down menu next to Time range to choose how much of your history Firefox will clear (the last hour, the last two hours, the last four hours, the current day, or everything). We advise selecting Everything.

  4. Select OK.

    • The window will close and the items selected will be cleared from your history.
