Yes, Ashley Madison has a Code of Conduct.

We encourage our Members to be kind, courteous, and well-mannered. To get the most out of your experience, treat others with respect and establish trust with your connections before sharing personal content or contact information.

Solicitation of goods or services, harassment, racial or ethnic slurs, insulting messages and criminal activity will not be tolerated.

Without limitation, by using Ashley Madison®, you contractually agree:

Lawful use

  1. Not to violate any applicable statute, regulation or other law;

  2. Not to use Ashley Madison® for any illegal purposes, including, without limitation, prostitution, solicitation, human trafficking, pedophilia or other exploitation or abuse of minors, incest, exploitation, drug trafficking, financial fraud, blackmail, arms/weapons trafficking, or incitement of violence or terrorism;

  3. Not to use the information available through Ashley Madison® (including but not limited to any Member Content) for any unauthorized or unlawful purpose; and

  4. Not to use Ashley Madison® if you ever have been convicted of an offense of a sexual nature, if you currently are charged with an offense of a sexual nature, or if you are required to register as a sex offender with any governmental entity or agency in any country.

Account restrictions

  1. Not to create an account if you previously were removed from our Services by us, unless you have our express written permission to create a new account;

  2. Not to use Ashley Madison® for any commercial purpose whatsoever, including, without limitation, advertising or marketing of any services or products; and

  3. Not to make your account available to anyone other than yourself or use Ashley Madison® for the benefit of anyone other than yourself.

Safety & Privacy

  1. Not to use Ashley Madison® to transmit, distribute, post or submit any information concerning any other person or entity, including, without limitation, photographs of others, personal contact information, or credit card, debit card, or account numbers;

  2. Not to solicit passwords or personal identifying information for commercial or unlawful purposes from other Members;

  3. Not to "stalk" or harass any other Member of Ashley Madison®;

  4. Not to use Ashley Madison® in a manner that could lead to death, personal injury, or environmental damage; and

  5. Not to impersonate any person or entity.


By using Ashley Madison®, you agree not to post or submit any content that:

  1. Is invasive, infringing, libellous, defamatory, slanderous or fraudulent;

  2. Contains pornographic, sexually explicit or vulgar material (mere nudity will not be deemed to violate this provision);

  3. May denigrate any ethnic, racial, sexual or religious group (by stereotypical depiction or otherwise);

  4. Exploits images or the likeness of individuals under 18 years of age including in a sexual or violent manner, or solicits personal information from anyone under the age of 18, or harms minors in any way;

  5. Makes use of offensive language or images or is otherwise obviously offensive to the online community;

  6. Harasses or advocates harassment of another person; and

  7. Includes hyperlinks, URL links, graphic links or other direct connections to Ashley Madison® for profit or gain.
