Why was my account suspended?

Understand the reasons that could lead to an account suspension, and how to appeal to our customer service team for a manual profile review.

We continuously review profiles on Ashley Madison to ensure a safe environment and positive experience for all members.

If your account was suspended, it was likely due to a violation of our Terms and Conditions.

To review our community guidelines, please see our Terms and Conditions and the Code of Conduct within.

The most common reasons for account suspension include:

  • Repetitive and/or suspicious activity;

  • Asking for money;

  • Harassing members;

  • Using our platform to promote services;

  • Selling photos or videos;

  • Indications of any criminal or illegal activity such as prostitution, human trafficking, drugs, or seeking minors; and

  • You are under 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if older than 18).

If you believe that you did not violate our community guidelines, you can appeal to our customer service team for a profile review.

Please email [email protected] with "Account appeal" in the subject line and include:

  • Email address linked to the account

  • Username

  • Profile number (found at the bottom of all email notifications)

  • Why your account should be reinstated

IMPORTANT! Without the proper information, your account can't be reviewed by our team.

We will review your appeal and act accordingly by either reinstating or permanently suspending your account.
