Username & Profile Number


💡 In addition to the below, your profile number can be found at the bottom of most emails from Ashley Madison, in the fine print near your email address.

To find your profile number and/or username:

iOS and Android

To find your profile number:

  1. Tap on the menu [☰] in the top-left corner.

  2. Your profile number appears at the bottom of the screen.

To find your username:

  1. Tap on the menu [☰] in the top left corner.

  2. Then on Settings.

  3. Then Account.

  4. Your username will appear on this page.

Web Browser

  • Click on the menu [☰] in the top-left corner.

  • Then on Settings.

  • Then Account.

  • Your username and profile number appear at the top.

Account Information


Basic Information

To change basic account information like your ZIP/postal code, language, or password:

iOS and Android

  1. Tap on the menu [☰] in the top left corner.

  2. Then Settings.

  3. Then Account Information or Account.

  4. Select the information you wish to edit.

  5. Save your changes.

Web Browser

  1. Click on the menu [☰] in the top-left corner.

  2. Then on Settings.

  3. Then Account.

  4. Select the information you want to edit.

  5. Save your changes.

⚠️ All text updates and photo changes are manually approved by our administrators. Typically, changes are approved within four (4) hours, but during peak times, weekends, and holidays, it may take up to 24 hours.

Country

⚠️ Unfortunately, you can’t change your country location in your account.

You can, however, update your account’s location providing it remains within the same country as your original one. If you’re relocating to a new country, you’ll need to create a new account with your new location.

For accounts with a Credit balance, contact Customer Service at [email protected] after creating your new account, and we’ll transfer your Credits. Be sure to provide the profile numbers for both your original and new accounts.

Gender

⚠️ Unfortunately, genders cannot be changed once an account has been created. To change your profile gender, you must create a new account.

Relationship Status

Female profile options

Male profile options

  • Attached female seeking males

  • Single female seeking males

  • Female seeking female

  • Attached male seeking females

  • Single male seeking females

  • Male seeking male

You have complete control of your relationship status and you can change it at any time:

iOS and Android

  1. Go to your Profile.

  2. Select Status.

  3. Select an option.

  4. Select Save.

Web Browser

  1. Go to your Profile.

  2. Scroll down to Vitals.

  3. Click on Edit.

  4. Change your Relationship Status.

  5. Select Save.

Email

To change the email address associated with your account:

iOS and Android

  1. Tap on the menu [☰] in the top left corner.

  2. Then on Account.

  3. Then Email Address.

  4. Update your email address.

  5. Select Done.

Web Browser

  1. Click on the menu [☰] in the top-left corner.

  2. Then on Settings.

  3. Then Account.

  4. Then Email Address.

  5. Update your email address.

  6. Select Save.

Email Validation

After you signed up with Ashley Madison, you received an email to validate your email address. To validate your account, click anywhere in the verification email or click on Verify My Email.

By validating your email, you are confirming that you are using a valid email address. Once your email address has been verified, you won't receive any more verification requests.

Password

To reset your password:

iOS and Android

  1. Tap on the menu [☰] in the top-left corner.

  2. Then on Settings.

  3. Then Account Information.

  4. Then Password.

  5. Enter your existing password, new password, then confirm new password.

  6. Select Change Password.

Web Browser

To reset your password before logging in:

  1. Select LOG IN in the top-right.

  2. Select Forgot your username or password?, and enter the email address associated with your account.

Your credentials will be emailed to your email address. Once received, select Reset Password to be redirected to a new login page.

To reset your password after logging in:

  1. Select the menu [☰] in the top-left corner.

  2. Then on Settings.

  3. Then Account.

  4. Then Password.

  5. Enter your existing password, new password, then confirm new password.

  6. Select Save.

Language

Ashley Madison supports languages including English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. To change these settings:

iOS and Android

  1. Tap on the menu [☰] in the top-left corner.

  2. Then on Settings.

  3. Then Account.

  4. Then Language.

  5. Choose a language.

  6. Select Save.

Web Browser

  1. Click on the menu [☰] in the upper-left corner.

  2. Then on Settings.

  3. Then Account.

  4. Then Language.

  5. Choose a language.

  6. Select Save.

Account Deactivation


⚠️ Deactivation removes your profile from search results and makes your account inaccessible.

When removing your profile from Ashley Madison, you have two options:

  1. Temporary deactivation

  2. Full deletion

Your account activity, photos, recent messages, and credit balance will be stored in our database for a period of 12 months should you choose to reactivate your profile at a later date. Please note, however, that after 12 months of inactivity (no logging in), your account will be deemed inactive, automatically deleted, and unable to be retrieved.

iOS

  1. Tap on the menu [☰] in the top left corner.

  2. Then on Settings.

  3. Then Account.

  4. Select Deactivation at the bottom of your screen.

Android

💡 Unfortunately, it’s not possible to deactivate your profile using the Android app. Please log into your account from a web browser.


​Web Browser

  1. Click on the menu [☰] in the top-left corner.

  2. Then on Settings.

  3. Then Account.

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Deactivation.

  5. Follow the steps until you receive a confirmation message.

Account Deletion


Fully deleting your account will:

  • Remove your profile from the search results

  • Remove your profile from the Ashley Madison® site

  • Remove your messages (both sent and received)

  • Remove any usage history and/or personal information stored on our site

  • Remove your photos

  • Forfeit any remaining Credit balance

⚠️ If you’re an Ashley Madison subscriber using iOS or Android, don’t forget to cancel your subscription through Google Play or the App Store to avoid any future charges. More info →

Account Deletion on iOS

  1. Tap on the menu [☰] in the top-left corner.

  2. Then on Settings.

  3. Then Account.

  4. Then select Full Deletion at the bottom of your screen.

Account Deletion on Android

  1. Tap on the menu [☰] in the top-left corner.

  2. Then on Settings.

  3. Then Account Information.

  4. Select Delete Account at the bottom of your screen.

  5. Confirm your account deletion.

Account Deletion on a Web Browser

  1. Click on the menu [☰] in the top-left corner.

  2. Then on Settings.

  3. Then Account.

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page.

  5. Select Delete Account.

  6. Follow the steps until you receive a confirmation message.

⚠️ In accordance with our Terms and Privacy Policy, any information that we require to retain for accounting or legal purposes (including to manage any potential chargebacks) will be deleted in accordance with our data retention schedule. This means that some of your payment and usage history may be kept for up to six (6) months for accounting or legal purposes.

Cancelling Subscriptions/Unsubscribing


⚠️ If you’re an Ashley Madison subscriber using iOS or Android, don’t forget to cancel your subscription/unsubscribe through Google Play or the App Store to avoid any future charges. More info →

iOS

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap your name.

  3. Tap Subscriptions.

  4. Tap Ashley Madison.

  5. Tap Cancel Subscription.

You might need to scroll down to find the Cancel Subscription button. If there is no Cancel button or you see an expiration message in red text, the subscription is already canceled/you have unsubscribed.

Android

  1. On your Android device, go to Subscriptions in Google Play.

  2. Select your Ashley Madison subscription.

  3. Tap Cancel subscription.

  4. Follow the instructions.
